Last week outside my house I installed a seat that is a compost. It’s called a Subpod.
In the photo below the seat is shown inside a raised bed garden.
People can sit on it and when they do I tell them its a compost and they are amazed.
There is no odour.
Because the Subpod walls are made of mesh with holes on all four sides and on the base there is plenty of air passing through the food waste which prevents the waste turning anaerobic and smelly.
The holes also allow the worms to go to and fro to the surrounding garden soil, as do the nutrients from the compost.
Charlie the lord of the street around the corner has given his approval, too.
